Colombia

Colombia has shed its dark past to become one of the most exciting destinations in South America. The slogan 'The only risk is wanting to stay' is true. From the colonial charm of Cartagena to the eternal spring of Medellín and the coffee triangle (Eje Cafetero), it's a country of warmth, music (salsa!), and incredible biodiversity.

Spanish. Colombian Spanish is clear and easy to understand. English is limited.

Pablo Escobar?

Locals generally dislike 'narco-tourism'. Be respectful and don't glorify the violence.
