While Taxiing
Don't jump up immediately. Use this time to turn on your phone and check connection. If you have an eSIM, activate data roaming for it.
Check the hotel address and save a screenshot or add it to 'Favorites' in maps. Internet might fail inside the terminal building.
Passport Control and Baggage
Walk briskly, overtaking slow tourists. The line at the border can stretch for an hour. Keep your boarding pass and passport in your hands, not deep in your backpack.
If you only have carry-on luggage — you hit the jackpot on time. If waiting for baggage, stand where you can see the belt exit, but don't block the approach for others.
Money and Transport
Never exchange a large amount of money in the baggage claim area or immediately at the exit — the rate is the worst there. Withdraw some cash from an ATM (preferably a bank one, not Euronet) or exchange the minimum for travel.
Find out in advance how to get to the city. Often signs for bus or train (Train/Metro) are visible immediately. Ignore taxi touts in the arrival zone.
