At the Airport
Delay 2+ hours: 2 calls/emails and drinks. 4+ hours: hot meal. Overnight delay: hotel and transfer. Demand this from the airline representative.
Compensation (Europe)
If a flight of a European airline or departure from the EU is delayed by 3+ hours due to the airline's fault, you are entitled to compensation up to 600 euros (EC Regulation 261/2004).
Russia
Compensations are more modest (25 rubles per hour of delay + a fine of 3% of the ticket price, but the practice is complicated). The main thing is to get food and a hotel.
